The Society’s Annual General Meeting will take place in traditional fashion, which is to say, a short business meeting following by a more lengthy period of socializing. Bring your plants for the “swap and sale” and finger foods for the “Strawberry Social”. (Here’s hoping that the warm weather will bring the strawberries along in time for this event.) Meeting time is 2 p.m. and the place is Room 5, Royal Botanical Gardens, 680 Plains Road West, Burlington.
The meeting on May 24th will feature a different format. Instead of having a speaker, we will have an interactive session which will give you the opportunity to tell everyone about something you have recently learned about orchids, either from personal experience or something you have read. You can also ask questions about any aspect of orchid growing and find out what other members of the Society have to say in response.
Raffle tickets will be awarded as prizes at the discretion of the moderators for great questions and useful answers or ideas. The raffle table will be enhanced with extra offerings to make it worth your while to give this some thought and come primed with questions and ideas. The meeting will be held in Room 5 at the Royal Botanical Gardens’ Headquarters, 680 Plains Road West, Burlington. The formal part of the meeting starts at 2 p.m. with time before the meeting for socializing and plant sales.
