General Meeting: October 18, 2015

Orchis mascula (3)

The orchid is an amazing flower that comes in literally thousands of different shapes, sizes and colours and has a very rich history, folklore and art which we tend to overlook in our preoccupation with growing techniques, lighting, media, fertilizers and other practical aspects. The topic for our October meeting is “Orchis – History, folklore and art”. The presentation by Lauren Booklin, an OSRBG member, will focus on the fascination that people have had for centuries with this plant. The formal meeting will begin at 2 p.m. with time before the meeting for socializing and interacting with vendors. Members and guests are welcome. Royal Botanical Gardens, 680 Plains Road W., Burlington, Room 5.
